Fine Art School Portraits
Rebecca Serpe is a children’s portrait photographer specializing in classic portraits that capture your child’s personality. She enjoys guiding and posing in a way that brings out authentic expression – resulting in treasured, timeless portraits in which you can truly see each child (and where they can see themselves, too!).
In addition to her private studio portrait sessions, Rebecca selectively works with schools in the Philadelphia area to offer fine art portrait photography, providing families with portraits of their children that are timeless yet modern, sophisticated yet playful.
With a style that is simple and minimal, Rebecca puts the focus right where it should be: on the kids!
My goal is to provide a custom, personal, boutique school photography experience. I am not a large corporation and I only photograph a few select schools each year. Because of that, I am able to spend a little bit longer with each child, have some fun, and capture their personalities.
While I do try hard to put every child at ease, I will never force them to smile. My mission is to make each child feel special and valued. I promise to pay close attention to the little things that make them unique, and to document them in a way that is honest, respectful, and unforced.
Children have very little inhibitions. I have found that they can’t help but express who they are when they get in front of the camera. And that’s why I truly love working with them.

How does it work?
- I provide all equipment needed for photo day. I work indoors with studio lighting, so photo day is not weather dependent.
- After all students are photographed, the images are professionally edited and organized into online ordering galleries. Each family will receive an email with a link to their individual password-protected gallery.
- Staff photos can also be taken upon request.
- I will provide the school with one high resolution digital file of each child for use in yearbooks, website, school advertising, school ID’s, or however the school wishes to use the images.
- I will create a class composite of each class, which will be available for each family to purchase.
What ages do you photograph?
I love working with students of all ages, and have captured school portraits of children ages 18 months – 18 years.
How many photos are presented?
Rather than having just one photograph chosen for them, families will be presented with a gallery of approximately 5-8 images, presented in both color and black and white. My goal is to capture different expressions to show off each student’s individual personality.

What types of products do you offer?
All of my portraits are printed on museum quality 100 % cotton fine art paper. Fine art printing is a specialty product, different from your standard glossy photographic print. Fine art prints are heirloom quality with a beautiful organic texture, made to last a lifetime. It feels really special to hold in your hands!
There will be a choice of three tired collections, as well as a-la-carte fine art prints and digital files.
What is the ordering process/How much will the photos cost?
I photograph all students with no money due up front – all purchases are made after galleries are presented to each family. All ordering takes place online with no paperwork involved! Families are given 1 week to view their galleries and make their selections. I will handle any questions from parents and families about ordering. Prints are delivered directly to the school.

What time of year are School Portraits offered?
Portraits can be scheduled at any time during the academic year.
